As part of the EU LIFE project ‘Belgium for Biodiversity’, INBO carried out an exploratory study with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the perceptions and needs of farmers and other stakeholders in three pilot areas.
The VLM and the ANB wish to step up their efforts in these areas to promote nature-inclusive agriculture, in order to help achieve the objectives of the Nature Restoration Regulation concerning agro-ecosystems.
From the wealth of findings from interviews and workshops, supplemented by literature reviews, we have identified the key areas for improvement in each of the three pilot areas. We have also drawn up a number of key recommendations for Flemish and European policy, which are necessary to enable the proposed improvements.
