On January 14, the official start of our 7 selected pilot projects took place.
Let's go back to the beginning: In May 2024, we launched a call for pilot projects with the aim of raising awareness of Natura2000 among the general public, 'Natura2000 in the spotlight'. By the deadline of September 9, 2024, we received 23 proposals from various regions of Belgium and from different sectors. The jury selected 7 projects.
These 7 projects gathered in Brussels for the kickoff meeting.
The projects have a duration of 2 years, until the end of 2026, to carry out their actions and bring Natura2000 to the attention of the general public. The various target groups of the projects include, among others: schools, young people, nature enthusiasts, families, groups of friends, people with limited mobility, and more.
We look forward to seeing all the results and working together on a strong Natura2000 network.
