In September '25 a first group of 53 Sonian Forest volunteers finished their initial training and are now active in the forest.
They are activated to welcome and inform visitors about, among other things, respecting and protecting biodiversity, Natura 2000, recreational opportunities, the use of the app, ... .
They also assist forest workers with minor management tasks. This helps to raise their awareness of forest management practices in the context of the Natura 2000 objectives.
Training possibilities on several themes are open for them on an ongoing base.
